I had an event that I really wanted to do well at and I understood that my nutrition leading up to it and on race day would be a key part of doing well. Working with Paul has helped me feel much more confident with how to fuel effectively and easily. Being able to fuel myself properly has helped me complete the training set to the best of my ability and I have improved greatly because of this. I was about to participate in my first triathlon (IM70.3 Aix) and wanted to get a sub 6 hr time. I improved understanding of my hydration needs and tips for fueling while running. Even though I felt like I knew a reasonable amount about my fueling beforehand, having access to the knowledge of an expert really gave me the extra tools to maximise my performance. With Paul’s help I was able to fuel and hydrate to maximise my performance allowing me to comfortably achieve my 70.3 goal time.

I had done lots of reading and given thought to my nutrition and knew I could do with some professional support, particularly about carbohydrate fuelling and protein targets. I feel much more confident in fuelling adequately for training and competing. I don’t worry about eating more carbs than I used to now because I have experienced good effects of adequate fuelling. The one to one aspect is amazing. It was so personalised and was such an iterative process having the weekly check ins. I have found Paul to be pragmatic and sensible. I was hoping to try and improve my marathon time and thought nutrition was definitely one area I could work on but didn’t really know where to start on my own. During my time competing in rowing at University I was required to make quite dramatic shifts in weight, gaining mass in winter, and shredding it off in summer. This proved to be quite difficult, having to lose great sums of weight (6kg) in a short amount of time (~10 days). Thanks to Paul Fairbairn I was able to complete this process with ease. His guidance and support made the process much easier, while still being able to enjoy my meals.
